1. The West Bengal Legislative Assembly has passed a new Bill which is an amendment to the Clinical Establishments Act, 2017. France has become the second European country, after Denmark, to ban per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in certain products, including cosmetics, textiles, and ski wax addressing concerns over health and environment. The production, import, export, and sale of PFAS-containing goods will be prohibited in France from  January 2026

The European Commission has proposed a bill to reduce the European Union’s dependence on India and other countries for antibiotics and other essential medicines by requiring Member States to procure medicines on parameters other than price, in order to incentivize domestic manufacturing. The bill, called Critical Medicines Act, is under consideration.
